What should I expect when re-entering Bangkok after a border run to Vietnam or Laos?

My next border run is coming up. Planning to fly to Vietnam for a week. What's your current experience re-entering to Bangkok? Were you asked for documents or confirmation of your bank balance?

An alternative would be to cross the border into Laos at Nakhon Phanom. Does anyone have experience with this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Users share varied experiences regarding re-entering Bangkok after short trips to Vietnam and Laos. Many report no issues when returning from Vietnam, with some mentioning the absence of document checks or bank balance inquiries. However, crossing into Laos has shown mixed results, with one user recounting a difficult interaction with border officers but no document requests. Suggestions include spending at least one night outside Thailand to ease immigration processes.

I just back from Laos, Vientiane -> Nong Khai.

Officer ask me so many questions and he was shouting at me and very aggressive to me. Not sure may be because of my passport (Myanmar). And he also said next time to take a flight and do not pass from this border.

He do not ask me to show any like documents or bank balance.

My DTV category is - workcation.

And I did DTAC before I enter. But he do not ask me anything about it.

So with a 1 week trip to Vietnam no issues but perhaps do the same with your Laos trip? Spend a few days in Tha Khaek, do the loop etc. Lots to see and do, you can easily spend a week there, just in Khammouane province and not get bored.

No issues either way but I would suggest spending at least one night outside of the country. Looks a bit better to immigration even if generally not required.
