Will I be asked for documents when exiting Thailand to Laos after my visa expires?

I've flown out twice at 6 month mark. Now I'm living closer to laos and I'm wondering if it would be the same as flying out, or would I be asked to show documents again?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the documentation needed when crossing the border from Laos into Thailand, especially after having flown out previously. Commenters shared mixed experiences, indicating that while most travelers might not be asked for additional documents beyond an e-visa printout, there are instances where immigration officials might conduct further questioning.

I have a Burmese friend (DTV holder) who did a border run to Vientiane last month. When she came back in through the land border gate, she was sent to a room and questioned by a "supervisor" IO on what she's gonna do, where she lives, how long she's gonna stay in Thailand. She didn't have to show any documents or bank accounts and finally let through into Thailand but she had to wait for about an hour to be questioned by this "supervisor".

At least for the burmese, the Nong Khai-Vientiane land border is getting stricter.
