What should I expect when applying for the Thailand DTV (Soft Power) visa from Bali?

Hi everyone! 😊

I’m planning to apply for the Thailand DTV (Soft Power) visa through the Thai Embassy in Indonesia, and I was wondering if anyone has recently done this while staying in Bali.

My plan is to:

* Fly into Bali.

* Stay there while submitting my application online.

* Wait in Bali until the visa is approved.

Has anyone successfully done this? Was your application approved without needing to travel to Jakarta? Did the embassy ask for an interview or any additional documents?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your recent experience, especially if you applied for the Soft Power DTV. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much! 🙏

Beware of this happening in Bali Jakarta Indonesia... They issued an Ed Visa, not a DTV Visa.

Reality is that they're doing it... issuing a Thai Visa which the Thai Embassy or Consulate better suits the applicant.

Ed Visa, SETV single entry tourist visa or METV multiple entry tourist visa.

Either that...or DENIED DTV visa application.

they shouldn't do that without permissions. It's like you order pizza but they send you hamburger.

the Thai Embassy issued a Non O Ed Visa instead of the DTV visa. On arrival into Thailand, the Non O Ed Visa holder is stamped in for 90 Days. And by meeting the requirements for an Ed Visa extension, can be extended for 90 Days at a time for up to one year at your local Thai immigration office.

Why did you choose Bali ?

What's your passport nation ?

Where are you now?

Which Soft Power Activity course are you going to submit?

For how long...in months..are you going to submit with your DTV Visa Application?

IF you want to get the DTV visa for soft power activity...

Go to VIENTIANE Laos.

OP
Thanks for your advice! I’m currently in Koh Phangan, Thailand, but I chose Bali because I’ll already be there at the end of next month for about 15–20 days. I thought it would be a good opportunity to apply for the DTV Soft Power visa.

I’m from Colombia, and I’m applying with a one-year cooking course (one class per week). I also chose Indonesia because I have some friends who applied there for the DTV (work category) last year, and they all got approved in about two weeks without any interview.

Do you still think Indonesia isn’t a good option? I’d really appreciate your opinion.

I'm afraid that it may not be long enough to get the DTV visa from the Thai Embassy in Jakarta... BUT as you are there...try to get it.

Please let us know what happens...

Good Luck 🍀

you know everything about me 😂

I don't like Laos. Definitely better waiting in Vietnam or in the Philippines. I'm just asking. Softpower.

read the posts about the Philippines... for what purpose are you applying for the DTV visa?

Workcation or soft power activity?

What is your passport nation?

Where are you now!

Vientiane seems to be good for the DTV visa... even issuing it to those who have been denied it in Vietnam

It is popular to apply from Bali via a JKT submission. Some had to travel to JKT for an interview. Note you may need to stay longer 30 days so make sure you are able to do that upon entry or get the correct visa in advance.

You can search old posts. I believe that Jakarta was taking 30ish days to process recently. One person mentioned an in person interview
