I'm planning to apply for my visa through Hanoi office in a couple weeks. Wondering if anyone was called in for an interview? I would like to leave the city if possible. I'll be applying under soft power- muay thai.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on applying for a Thai visa through the Hanoi office while expressing a desire to leave the city during the application process. Community responses indicate that it's advisable to remain in the area post-application due to increased scrutiny from the embassy, which may require additional documentation or interviews. There are concerns that not staying could lead to a visa application being disapproved.

We wouldn’t recommend leaving right away, as embassies have become more strict recently. In several cases, they’ve followed up a few days after submission asking for additional documents like:

- Photos of all passport pages with stamps/visas

- Updated hotel receipts or proof of stay

It’s best to stay around longer or throughout just in case you’re asked to provide extra documents or clarification. Interview requests are still rare, but additional checks are becoming more common.

Sorry I wasn't clear earlier! It is ok to travel between cities in Vietnam. Just not to exit the country

thank you! Does this mean if you move hotels its an issue or you just need to be within the hanoi district?

Why apply if you don't want to stay? Simple if they check or call you in it's a NOT APPROVE. They are getting stricter do you not see how many are not approved now. It's people like you who have raised the suspicion of the Thai embassy now.
