What should I expect regarding my 60-day visa extension in Thailand after paying an overstay fee?

ORIGINAL POSTER
US Visa Under Consideration - No Embassy Letter.

I went to class for 2 weeks before lockdown. Expired after amnesty, never went back to class, went to immigration once, was told to wait back in Sept when it was extended.

No appointment, no hassles at Chaengwattana. Just paid 3000 overstay and 1,900. Was told to come back on Nov 23 and they'd give me a 60 day stamp.

They even made a copy of my TM6 which I forgot and my picture was not a 4x6 and I was wearing shorts.

Sounds to good to be true, wondering if I wont get the stamp later πŸ€”

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is awaiting a 60-day visa extension in Thailand after paying an overstay fee and is concerned about receiving the stamp. Comments indicate that extensions related to COVID-19 are typically processed without issues, but the user faced a penalty for not applying before the amnesty deadline. It's recommended to return on the specified date to complete the application process.

I thought covid visa extensions were being dealt with at MTT? Is it back to ChaengWattana now?

where you go is totally dependent on what TYPE of entry you came in on before the lock down at the end of March.

IF you entered on a 30 day visa exempt, OR a 60 day tourist visa you use MTT.

IF you entered on a Non-Immigrant Type visa entry stamp you use Chaengwattana

In this case the O/P was on a Non-Immgrant Type ED entry so they used C/W

you got hit for 3000 overstay because you didn't apply for your extension before the 31st of Oct when amnesty ended :/

Other than that it's a pretty straightforward 60 day extension application.

Make sure you go back ON the Monday 23rd just like the stamp says ;)

but other than that weekends definitely DO count in accruing overstay fines and penalties

I believe you're confusing the fact that if your stamp expired on a weekend and you went the next day the immigration office was open (like that Monday) you wouldn't accrue any overstay fines.

You applied for an extension because you can not leave Thailand because of COVID-19. I never heard of an under consideration stamp being rejected for COVID-19 reasons.
