What should I expect during my TM-47 immigration check-in process at Division 1?

Good Morning Group,

I applied for my online queue # for my upcoming Monday immigration check in to report my TM-47. Although I’ve grabbed a queue # I felt like it didn’t matter and was still stuck in line for over 2 hours just to check in with desk person to verify my documents. Could maybe someone who has gone this route at Division 1 immigration explain to me what I am doing wrong. Do I still need to show up hours before my scheduled 8:30am queue line appointment to wait in line…? This is my 1st report for my TM 47. I originally went to IT Square before to apply for my Returning Thai National 1yr visa but they are sending me to the main immigration place next to it. Also will those print shops businesses be open early AM so I can make copies? I’ve never been to main Division 1 place only the IT SQ place.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat shared their experience regarding the TM-47 report check-in process at Division 1 Immigration in Thailand, expressing frustration over long wait times despite having an online appointment. Others in the comments offered advice, suggesting alternatives such as mail reporting for 90-day check-ins, or providing tips for navigating the process at the immigration office. Some respondents debated frequent travel as a method for visa compliance.

Just go inside and show appointment on phone to desk you need to go and then you eliminated any quinng

just travel outside the country

@Jo *********
As if that's something expats do 4 times per year.

@Max ************
i do 10 times a year - maybe others as well.

Yeah, in what universe? I can bet you any sum, that most expats living here long term doesn't leave the country 10 times, not even close to that number.

@Max ************
your probably right. But I always go for work. Are all expats here retired? even then it’s nice to travel to Lao or Singapore

If you're in Bangkok, do the 90-day report by mail. I do it every time - never fails. As close as your local post office. 72 baht postage both ways. Total no brainer

you take a positive position ion this! that’s really great

Of course! If 90-day reporting was not possible by mail, I probably wouldn't even bother doing it. I won't give up a whole day for a silly and unnecessary piece of bureaucracy

i love it!!

@Roberto ********
Why do it by mail "every time" when you can do it online?
Roberto *********
@Max ************
Sometimes online fails. By mail never fails!

@Roberto ********
You don't need to do the report online the last day. Isn't 15 days enough?
Roberto *********
@Max ************
I don't know. Heard too many get denied and then you have to hike out to CW - that's not on my agenda! I stick with the mail as it works every time. I walk past the post office every day going to the gym, so five minutes extra is easy for me! 👍

Maybe you shouldn't listen to people.Loads of them are not doing it the correct way, and sometimes it's just a simple solution like changing browser. Or, maybe they don't understand the window when you can submit the 90-days report online. It's not rocket science.

@Max ************
Neither is sending it through the mail and getting a 100% result. If it ain't broke, why fix it? One rejection and it's a day lost - why take a chance? I have two close friends have had rejections from the online system and they're more savvy than me with technology!

@Roberto ********
You still have 15 days to do the report. I haven't heard about any problems with the online report and belonging to CW immigration in a long time.

@Max ************
Unfortunately the window closes on mail reporting 14 days out, so getting an online rejection means having to hike out to CW and wasting a day. I can't be bothered to take a risk when it's so easy to do by mail. You've experienced no problems, I've got a couple of mates who have had problems, and plenty of reports in these groups. If it works for you - that's great! I'll stick with my old school method. It's all good!

ALL 90-day reports are done at the main immigration office now. Having an appointment will allow you to go to the front of the line. I believe it's on the 3rd floor now, as it just moved.
