What should I do to resolve my visa complication in Thailand after receiving a consideration stamp?

Wondering if someone could advise the next step in resolving this visa complication.

The previous stamp was a consideration stamp during the beginning of the covid 19.

I went to immigration to change that status to a different visa; and that immigration said that they could only give me further consideration, even though all of the paper work has been done to request a non-B.

The immigration said I will have to leave the country and return in order for them to process.

Any thoughts?
