What should I do if my visa application is still pending approval after several weeks?

That's a really long wait.

I've seen a few people report that DTV applications can sit on "Pending Approval" much longer than expected, especially when additional internal reviews are involved, but over a month is definitely frustrating when you already have travel plans.

If it helps at all, "Pending Approval" is usually better than having the application returned or being asked for additional documents. At least it sounds like it's still actively in the system.

Have they requested any extra documents since April 28th, or has the status stayed exactly the same the whole time?

If you get any update from the NY consulate, I'd be interested to hear it. There seem to be quite a few people waiting longer than expected recently, and it helps everyone to compare timelines.

That does sound like a long wait. And this week's Thai holidays should have no bearing on why it's been processing for so long.

Which embassy / country did you apply through? Maybe a visit or a call to them would help. Good luck!

I know the LA office has Line contact which I had used to reach out after 15 days. See if the NY office has one.

Applications can take longer, that is the reason you fill in INTENDED flight dates.

I’m in a similar situation. I applied April 22nd, it’s been sitting in pending approval since April 27th, my flight is on Thursday and I’ve heard nothing except from a fb message that my message was passed along and it’s still pending.

Thailand has holiday right now.

There is two holidays in the first week of June

As of 4-5 weeks ago NY was running 6 weeks. Just FYI

If you have a Thai friend have them call. Try different options until you get someone. That's what my Thai friend does lol
