What should I do if my Destination Thailand Visa application is stuck on 'Pending Document Check'?

Hi everyone,

I applied for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) through the London embassy on 11 September.

The next day (12 Sept) I received a request for more documents, which I uploaded right away.

However, my application has been stuck on “Pending Document Check” ever since.

Here’s the snag: I accidentally uploaded a Monzo business account statement instead of a personal one (it’s my sole-trader account with my name/address) and only after I realized they wanted a personal bank statement not a business one. I expected they’d email me again asking for a personal statement, but I’ve heard nothing, no email, no portal message, for over a week.

What’s puzzling is that:

• My wife applied a week earlier and her DTV was approved within a week, she uploaded her Revolut personal statement and after a day the application was already in pending approval and after few days approved, took like 6 working days in total

• Several friends applied around the same time as me and were also approved quickly, even when they had to resubmit documents, only 1-2 days in pending document check and then in pending approval and after 4-5 days they got approved.

But in my case, it’s been 6 working days already where the visa status didn’t change at all from “pending document check” and they’re not even asking me for more documents, look like it’s just stuck.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with the London Thai Embassy, especially if you accidentally submitted a business account statement?

Did it just take extra time, or will they eventually email again for the correct personal statement?

Thanks for any insight!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user applied for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) through the London embassy but is experiencing a delay in the application process. After submitting additional documents, their application remains in 'Pending Document Check' status for over six working days, unlike their spouse and friends who had quicker approvals. They are concerned about having submitted a business bank statement instead of a personal one and seek advice on whether they should expect further communication from the embassy regarding the missing personal bank statement.

Those “status messages” you can’t use for anything, they don’t show the real progress, and can change both ways.

Request for documents resets the counter to zero, on the day the last document is provided.

Read the visaprocessing time on the Embassy website, and add 50 % time, until then everything is normal.

Be patient. If they want further information they would ask for it

if they see the business account twice, might deny the visa. They asked for the personal bank account.

it's possible but not much he can do about it now

it's quite a different world we are dealing with now vs the way we were able to communicate with the Thai Embassy in the UK during COVID-19.

Those of us who were active in helping UK citizens meet the requirements for getting the approval of the Thai Embassy to be able to return to Thailand during the shutdown had an inside Embassy employee who would monitor our requests night and day...

was our point person to contact the Embassy Officer, who we referred to as an Angel 😇 with an urgent need for a UK citizen to be granted their Thailand Pass to fly to Thailand.

Many people were helped return both to their families and to work as teachers.

That Embassy Officer returned to Bangkok with the Thai Foreign Ministry at the end of COVID. She was truly an Angel 😇 to many.

Do you have a personal bank account in your name only with the required bank account balance of 500,000 Thai baht or More?

James Miller I have a personal bank account and a business bank account.

First I sent the business statement with the 500k+ thb plus all the documents you submit when you apply for the visa the first time and pay, and the next day they sent me an email asking for the flight ticket and for the bank statement with 500k thb in a personal bank account, not business.

But by mistake I’ve sent the business one again, and that was on the 12th of September, and since then, they didn’t send any more email asking again for the personal statement, the application is just stuck in “pending document check”.

I know it might just be a delay but it’s strange because when they need some extra documents they usually require them via email fast enough, within 1-2 days, in London.

But it’s been a whole working week and no email for me yet, and they would update the status of the application to “pending approval of everything was fine. But it says “Pending Document Check” which is unusual like I said as my wife and some friends all applied within the same time and they all got the visa within a week.

Someone sent the wrong documents as well once and they sent him again a second email asking again for the right documents after only a day he submitted the wrong ones.

I’m the only one who’s didn’t get any message/email from them yet, everybody else was asked for the right documents multiple times via email within few days and then when they submitted the required documents they all had the status changed to “Pending Approval” everything in just few days.

That’s why I’m asking if anyone experienced something like this, I’m just curious so I know in time if it’s all good or there might be a problem so I know how to move next.

I’ll wait and hopefully they’ll send me an email for the personal bank statement with the 500k thb and I’ll just transfer from the business account to the personal one

Thank you

Anonymous participant I suggest you send the personal bank account to them.

With note of your error in sending the business account twice.

but how can I do that? Should I send it by email because there’s no other way I know, by the way I sent them an email already asking if everything is fine or something more is needed but no reply from them, I sent the email on Wednesday 17th
