TLDR : Answer Summary
A tourist in Bangkok reports being scammed by a beauty clinic owner who absconded with approximately $4000. The individual seeks advice on legal options and police assistance, expressing unfamiliarity with local laws. Community responses suggest going to the tourist police, reporting the scam, and cautioning about sharing details online to avoid defamation. They also emphasize the importance of being cautious when making advance payments.

Speak to the Thai tourist police first, you might need the assistance of a lawyer/solicitor to help recover the money, see what there advice is, if you would have paid with a debit or credit card, you could have spoken to them and got a charge back, for a payment of services not received, as far as I'm aware any legitimate business would only ever ask for a deposit anyway, not the full amount.

Did you really pay $4000 in advance? That's imo being very naive.

stupid me,she is very sweet talk.

I make 2 times bank transfer and 3rd payment is by cash first day arrive in thailand, she give me so much reason make me to believe her.

Normally I'm very careful with anything but not this time.

Even go to restaurant I always check the review but I didn't check her clinic review.

I believe in my friend because she done surgery with her and I just check clinic Instagram everything seem legit.

But nah..scammed.

Go to the tourist police. What other option do you really have.
Frank **********
First step would have been to read the reviews before you gave her money.
