What should I do if I'm 2 months late on my 90-day report for my visa in Thailand?

90 day report.

OK so that’s the first time it happened to me and I completely forgot my 90 day report (I normally receive an email reminder and add a reminder in my Google calendar, but both didn’t happen his time). I am now 2 months overdue.

I have tried to file it online anyway, and obviously got rejected. But there is a mention in bold saying:

Please contact the nearest Immigration Office in person immediately.

Am I in trouble? Looking back, I think I should have stayed quiet and not tried to fill online, but can’t change that. Is it best to go to immigration to sort it out or wait a couple of months when I need to go anyway to renew my extension of stay? Or should I just fly out of the country to reset the 90 days?

Thank you in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual forgot to file their 90-day report in Thailand and is now two months overdue. After attempting to file online and being rejected, they face a bold notice to contact the nearest Immigration Office immediately. Community comments suggest that while the individual is overdue, the situation is manageable, and they will incur a fine of 2000 baht regardless of when they visit the office. It's recommended to handle it in person rather than risking further complications or unnecessary travel.

I missed two. Just went to the drive through in Chiangmai on the day the 3rd one was due expecting to pay the fine twice.

Officer just smiled and said 2000b please.

I blame Google calendar for not remembering.

The fine does not increase from 2000B whether you're 8 days late or 8 months late reporting. It's just one fine not multiples.

Same here, 2 months late 2000 baht fine. No problem, next one was 1 month late, same fine. Not been late since 😂

I just send the wife with my passport, the office is just a 10 minute drive. Never depend on electronic but instead the wife as my extension renewal is soon coming up.

I did the same. Went to immigration, paid the fine, all smiles, no trouble , report date reset from that date.

That's an automated email that comes out and there's no "run to the office" urgency.

You are already more than 7 days late so the fine is 2000baht whether you go today or go in another month or two when your extension is due.

You didn't make it any worse by trying to file online 🙂

You're far from the first person to miss a 90 day report. So just realize you'll have a 2000baht fine when you do go file one.

I wouldn't even waste the time/effort or money to fly out and back to get out of a 90 day failure to report on time fine. It's no big deal at all.

If you fail to report, leave, and then return, does the fine still apply when completing a new 90-day report or visiting immigration for documents?

as a general rule if you miss a report, leave/return the next time your 90 day report is due they do NOT notice you missed applying on time for the previous ones

BUT

every once in a while they do and fine you the 2000baht for the late filing on the previous report before they'll let you file a new one

I sure wouldn't bounce out and back just to get OUT of a 2000baht failure to file a 90 day report on time fine unless you have to travel somewhere 🙂

edited that out, sorry, no need for me to be mean spirited like that

either go file now and pay the 2000baht fine, or file when you go for your extension and pay the fine then
