What should I do if I applied for a Smart Visa and haven't received an extension letter from the embassy before the deadline?

SMART VISA

are there people who applied for the smart visa, getting the announcement after the 26th and don’t get a letter from the embassy to extend the current visa?

I am curious how you solve this and if anyone has experience about extending the current visa with the paper from smartvisa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around individuals experiencing challenges with the Smart Visa application process, particularly regarding concerns of not receiving confirmation or an extension letter from the embassy by the deadline. Respondents suggest contacting the BOI for guidance, emphasizing the Smart Visa allows for a four-year term. There are personal accounts from applicants worried about their visa status due to expired visas or amnesty, highlighting the need for communication with the embassy if deadlines are approaching without responses.

if in fact you're not going to find out if you're approved or not for the SMART visa until the 2nd of Oct I'd definitely get an embassy letter if you could because otherwise you're going on overstay after the 26th until you get your results and get the visa inked in.

I’ve submitted mine a few weeks back and was concerned since I am under amnesty. I had a single non-b visa previously but expired in May. The SMART visa told me that it is not necessary for me to apply for an extension since I am still under amnesty and I will get a reply next week.

But if this is not approved, I will have to request for a letter from the embassy.

Think in your case you will have to try asking your embassy now since the date is after 26th?

So you get the announcement if you get the smart visa next week?

What visa did you have before amnesty? Have you applied the SMART Visa online yet?

This sounds like one of those "people on the islands" things that was going on where a whole group was applying for a smart visa or something.

I'd post on the group related to where you live in thailand, because AFAIK only the island people were in on this "let's get a smart visa" thing that was going on. I didn't hear of ANYONE else in the whole country jumping on it like the islanders were.

I thought they had a "cut off date" that everyone had to have their applications in by to make sure you had the results BEFORE the current amnesty runs out.

The way the rules are written, IF you didn't get a visa/extension before the 26th you will go onto overstay. SO when you applied for the 6 month SMART visa did you get an "under consideration" stamp from the immigration office?

Contact the BOI, but the Smart Visa is for 4 years,

If you only have the 6 month version, you show that your business plans did all worked out and apply for the 4 year version
