Hi Tod, I have recently been approved for Thai Elite visa. I entered Bkk in Feb using my first ED visa. I am still studying in the school and recently passed the test. Am waiting for the school to issue the letter for me to obtain my first extension. (the school has been telling me that I am covered under the Amnesty until July 31st)

I am getting conflicting message from the Thai Elite staff regarding how to deal with my current ED visa. The first person I spoke to said that I have to get the cancellation letter from my school and get my ED visa canceled. l can then get my Thai Elite visa on the same day. Today, I asked another Thai Elite staff who now says that I do not need to cancel my ED visa and can just apply the Thai Elite visa in Bangkok. Which one is correct? And I presume I should not get the extension letter from my school to get my extension for studying? Can you please share your thoughts? Thank you so much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they need to cancel their current ED visa before applying for a Thai Elite visa, as they have received conflicting information from Thai Elite staff. They are currently waiting for a letter from their school for their extension but are covered under the Amnesty until July 31st.

you might as well take a letter from your school with you stating you stopped studying on xxx date, just in case you need it though :)

You will meet the elite staff at the immigration office to get the visa stuck into your passport and get a new one year stamp. Follow what they say.
