Good morning !

I'd like to know what is a valid 10k baht proof of funds to get a visa exemption at the land border of chiang khong ? Please ๐Ÿ™

Arriving from Laos by land, I'll ask for a 45 days exemption (I'm french).

I can give a non-detailled (balance and amount) bank document for the 3 last months, is that enough or does it need to be detailled ? Is saving accound ok or it has to be the current one ?

Or any more simple solution to give an accepted proof ?

Many thanks ๐Ÿค—

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a 45-day visa exemption upon entering Thailand from Laos at Chiang Khong, you are generally expected to provide proof of funds. While the requirement is often quoted as 20,000 baht in cash per person, many travelers have noted that border officers do not always ask for this proof. It is advisable to have such funds available, preferably in small denominations. Some commenters also suggested that a bank document showing a non-detailed balance for the last three months could suffice, but cash might be the preferred method of proving funds.

nope, you are HIGHLY unlikely to be asked for proof of funds entering by ANY of the land borders from Lao into thailand on a visa exempt entry

If you enter on visa-exempt for 30 days (currently 45 days), you need to have 20,000 thb or major currency in cash. 10,000 thb per person is the requirement for those who enter Thailand on VOA.
