How long does it take to get approval for a soft power DTV visa in Thailand?

Soft power DTV (6-month Thai cooking from Arun Thai) through the Chicago Consulate.

Applied on March 18th.

Pending Document Check morning of March 26. Checked again at noon - Pending Approval.

Received approval email by 3:45pm.

8 days total. No back and forth.

No income, but I submitted a brokerage statement which had the amount necessary instead of my personal bank account. I submitted my boarding pass from Taipei to Chicago as proof of location.

I’ve been so anxious reading the recent posts on here especially since I have already booked a ticket back to BKK in the beginning of April that I kept checking the status of my application everyday. I hope my experience can provide some people with relief during their application process.

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

My goodness we are practically the same! I submitted soft power cooking also on 18 march, then received request for further docs on 26 mar which I submitted. Checked and now moved to pending approval but still that status as of now. Applied to Hong Kong embassy. Fingers crossed everything will be fine.
