Hey!

Has anyone applied recently via the medical route in Jakarta? I am still unsure which route to apply with. I do have some medical treatments lined up. I also heard that they thai embassies are starting to require a document that shows a partial payment for the treatments, like a deposit. Any information on that?

I'll definitely will apply in Jakarta because i am currently on Lombok.

Cheers Eva

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on applying for a medical visa from the Thai embassy in Jakarta, highlighting uncertainties about the application process and recent requirements for proof of partial payment for medical treatments. One commenter cautions about the risks associated with medical visa applications, suggesting alternative routes, such as a Muay Thai visa, may be safer.

depends on the kind of medical treatment and it can still be a gamble except if you have a previous history of treatments in thailand. I feel it's safer to waste

k on the muay thai route but get your visa approved that taking the risk of a medical treatment and get your visa denied or get a METV the most

Cheaper maybe but that's probably for a short term class. The day you decide to extend in Thailand or if they become stricter on the "ongoing activity", you'll need to invest into new classes.

The extension requirements set by immigration, which everyone thought would be very easy, actually aren't assumptions anymore. 😏
