Any ppl here with experience of going from Chiang Mai to Vientiane for a visa run? I’m wondering what the best service is that takes you there for a reasonable price :)

Flight from Chiang Mai to Udon Thani with Nok Air, and one hour minivan trip from Udon airport to the border.

Thanks Tod! Shuttle is listed as free. I'm wondering how much is their service. I assume they take care of ensuring people get into queues, get paperwork, etc.

I have used AYA van from CM .. Delivers you to Embassy in Vientiane .. And picks you up next day back to CM .. Easy, if slightly uncomfortable, sitting up, but saves heaps of hassle, and you are looked after all the way ..

You can also take the overnight bus to Nong Khai, which is the town immediately on the border. AYA also offers a direct service from CM to the consulate in Vientiane. The return trip begins from their office in Nong Khai.
