Vientiane Visa Advise.

I'm going to get a SE tourist visa on Monday.

I'll be flying to Udon Thani on Sunday and spending the night there.

Can people advise how I can get to Vientiane for Monday morning. What is the best way to get from the city to the border- then from the border to the Thai embassy? is there any cost for entering Laos?

Thanks

If I leave at 6am-

Get the minivan from central (does anyone know what time these begin)

Cross in to laos- can I realistically be at the thai embassy for 8:

am?

They start early .u can cross over to the bus station opposite central and get the big bus from there.and there is also the train the station is 400 meters from central.

but the Monday queue is always bad- why not spend a night in Vientiane and go on Tuesday?
Toby ******
it is doable from Udon- you might want to leave at 5:30 just to be in the safe side

I can't do Nong Khai- i need to stay udon on the sudnay
Toby ******
thqt is why Nongkai is a better choice- you save at least 45 minutes, possibly an hour and a quarter
Toby ******
spend the night in Nongkai on the river- it is much nicer and much more convenient to get to the embassy in the morning.

If u take a van from udonthani airport its 200baht, but if u take a taxi from town its around 6to800baht.after that u need a visa to get in lao around 30-35usd .

And from the border to the embassy its 200baht by tuktuk.
Davey *******
Minivan from central plaza.

From the border u can get a shared taxi maybe 100 baht each
