TLDR : Answer Summary
The processing time for short-term tourist visas at VFS Bangkok is currently experiencing significant delays, with reports of waiting times extending up to 13 weeks. Users have noted that all applications are sent to the British High Commission in New Delhi, and VFS is not providing direct contact information for inquiries. While the usual Service Level Agreement (SLA) is around 3 weeks, many applicants are considering upgrading to the premium fast track service due to these delays, despite the additional cost and potential for non-refundable fees.

Thank you, is it worth getting a refund and then upgrading?

I am going to wait until after Christmas and see how it’s going. If we are no further forward then that’s my plan. BUT………..VFS are completely irrational. I have known them accept premium service applications one day, and decline them the next. They are so inconsistent. But you loose your original fee. no refunds, and it means another visit to the Trendy Building!

Usual SLA (service level agreement) is 3 weeks. It has been reported that for a standard UK visitor visa, it is taking up to 13 weeks! My gf did her biometrics on 1st November. We are still waiting. Also told that so many people are cancelling the standard service because of the delays and resubmitting their application for the premium fast track service for 9000 bahts more. Those applications are getting priority.

About 13 weeks is the current wait

They're unbelievably slow! All visa applications are sent to British High Commission in New Delhi. There's no way of contacting them, and VFS won't give out phone numbers. You'll get better info in this group
