TLDR : Answer Summary
Vaping nicotine is technically illegal in Thailand, with potential fines up to 30,000 baht and even jail time for offenders. Despite this, many residents and tourists vape discreetly, particularly in tourist areas and shops that sell vaping products. Some users suggest avoiding bringing vaping equipment through airports to evade scrutiny, while others recommend obtaining vaping supplies once in Thailand. There is a mixture of opinions, with some asserting that people vape openly without consequences, while others advise extreme caution due to the strict enforcement of laws.

Bring it all in with you, we will visit you in jail…😊
This type of vape is not only the best and healthiest method of consuming thc, it could also be the solution to the issue of smoking buds in public being illegal*.
It’d certain be a completely stealth way to do so as there’s no clouds of vapour to attract attention and practically no smell to *cause a “nuisance”.
considering the cannabis side of it, smoking in public is illegal, with fines upto bt25,000, and 3 months in jail. Smoking in private is legal. On the vaping side of it, any vaping of any kind is illegal, with fines up to bt30,000, and upto ten years in prison. What they would do if caught vaping cannabis is anyone's guess. It would depend on your attitude toward them.

Loads of places online to buy vape equipment and liquid. Loads of people do it, just be aware if you get caught in public, there may be a fine.

Many people do Thais included it is illegal though so don't walk around vaping like it's a cigarette be discreet and you will be fine.
And don't bring it through the airport buy once your here.
True. Besides, smoking in public is pretty restricted in Thailand these days so one should definitely not smoke anywhere, where it's forbidden or not done anymore.
For instance, in a designated smoking area one could probably get away with it, as I'm sure you won't be the only one. I also would advise against it, on a busy street, even if there are locals smoking cigarettes in the vicinity.
It's an activity best kept to your own residence or perhaps a hotel balcony or remote/isolated area away from people. A petrol/gas station with no one else around would probably work too.
Yeah if it's available for purchase in Thailand, makes little sense to be bringing it across the border. Same thing with CBD oil. While CBD oil is now legal in Thailand, restrictions may still apply on import/exports. I think the penalties, if caught, would probably be minimal these days, it's still best not to risk it and just purchase in country where it's readily available now, both online and in certain shops.

Why? Taken in my vape dozens of times over the years. I often have extra liquid in my case also. Never caused any issue when bags went through x ray on occasions.
Whatever you do, do NOT bring in such equipment through Malaysia. While I am not sure of the vaping rules there, Malaysia, being an Islamic country has far stricter rules on alcohol, cannabis and anything to do with drugs than Thailand does.
My suggestion would be Laos or Cambodia, since Myanmar is unlikely to reopen it's land borders for months or even years to come.
Yeah not the best idea even if it's worked for you so far.
If absolutely necessary enter through a LAND border, but before you do, research the rules on vaping in the country you pass through and also their customs rules.
For example, if I were you and I absolutely had to bring in vaping equipment (I neither smoke tobacco nor vape, though very very occasionally like a bit of marijuana) I would purchase a through ticket to or a one way flight to either Phnom Penh or Vientiane and then enter Thailand by land.
This is because at land borders, customs checks are very lax, especially if coming across the border by car.
If arriving by bus or on foot it's small enough to conceal inside your pant pockets, that would work too.
There will almost certainly NOT be an inspection of your luggage if entering by car from Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos or Malaysia.
There might be a brief x-ray inspection of luggage brought in by bus passengers or those arriving on foot only, across the Aranyaprathet crossing from Poipet, Cambodia and maybe Nong Khai, across from Vientiane.
Not that I would advocate any illegal activities but it's also easier to buy your way out of trouble at a land border than at an airport, where rules are more strictly followed due to greater levels of scrutiny.
If you MUST bring in such items, prepare to be a little creative in how you get into the country, as I have just suggested.
Congratulations, you got away with something you weren't supposed to do. The penalty for importing a controlled substance into Thailand is much worse than simply being found in possession of it outside a bar in Pattaya.
merely stating my experience on several occasions. Not only me but I know many others entered with vapes and liquid - never an issue. Most of the customs people aren’t in it for a quick buck (unlike the local policeman in Pattaya) and I get the impression they are happy to let it go if not in large quantities.

Vaping is illegal, and if a cop sees you doing it, he will hassle you. If you give them attitude, just remember, the penalty can cost you up to bt30,000, and up to 10, yes ten, years in jail. Just remember, if they see you doing it they will hassle you, with usually confiscation of everything, and a small fine. Just don't give them any attitude.
you assume because electronic cigarettes are illegal that all smoking in public is illegal, which is not the case at all. Cannabis smoking in public is illegal, but not tobacco cigarette smoking. Vaping in any form, and done anywhere, is technically illegal. That is reality

It is illegal. But many still do it and there are shops in and around the major tourist spots that will sell you the vape and equipment.
don't do. If can avoid taking your vape when you fly in. I took it spread out over my luggage and was fine, but there is a change to get cought. Vape and liquids are easy to buy online and delivered at your address. I vape and as someone said earlier just don't do it where you shouldn't smoke. People are using it everywhere in BKK. Foreigners and locals. Don't go back to smoking😁
I met a cop recently, who was vaping a very big electronic cigarette. Asking him about it, he said he took it / confiscated it off some poor schmuck since they are illegal. TIT.
thanks. I won’t be doing it tons in public. Just wanted to know if I would be the only one. Or if I should just smoking cigarettes again. Quit cigarettes 4 years ago and vaping is just better
no babe, keep vaping , you should be ok , just be discreet, if you’re from Oz , we’ll that’s about the same cost as 3 packs of cigs, imagine how much more you’ll pay if you pick up again, I’m trying to quit and still can’t, Melbourne lockdowns f#^# that up , keep going, I know it’s easy to give in on holidays but you got this ✋
