TLDR : Answer Summary
The cost of insurance for a 155cc motorcycle in Thailand varies, typically starting around 645 THB for basic government minimum coverage, which can be purchased at the Department of Land Transport (DLT) along with the vehicle tax. While some expats (farangs) mention paying around 6000 baht for more comprehensive coverage, it is noted that the price remains fairly similar for both locals and foreigners. It is also important to consider potential limitations in coverage or payout depending on the insurance company, with some companies specifically mentioning exclusions for accidents involving expats.

You can buy accident insurance from the banks 6000-10,000 but most won't insure for a bike accident if your over 65
In Thailand you insure the vehicle not the person. Government minimum coverage can be bought at the DLT when you pay your tax on the bike. Its than 1000 baht for the year.
