Hi,

On 6 June 2024 the IO here in Chiang Mai granted me an extension of stay based on the Non - O over 50 (retirement) visa using the international bank transfer of 800,000 baht. The expiry date ends on July 2 2025 (in effect 13 months according to the stamps in my passport).

The next extension of stay will be applied for and based on the monthly income method of 65,000 baht minimum international bank transfer every month for 12 months.

Question:-

Do the 12 x monthly statements run from:-

1) June 2024 to May 2025 inclusive (12 months);

2) July 2024 to June 2025 inclusive (12 months);

3) June 2024 to June 2025 inclusive (13 months).

Regards!

Graham

TLDR : Answer Summary
Graham, who has an extension of stay based on a Non - O over 50 (retirement) visa, inquires about the time period for the required 12 monthly bank statements needed for his next extension application. He outlines three potential periods for these statements and seeks clarification. Community responses clarify that the monthly statements should be from June 2024 to May 2025, ensuring he has 12 consecutive monthly transfers for the extension that he will apply for before his current visa expires on July 2, 2025.

Just make sure you continue to meet the requirements from this year's extension while working towards next year's transfers. That means your bank account must remain at 800,000 baht for 3 months after your extension date and then it can never drop below 400,000 until you get next year's extension.

the 1-year extension started on the day after the 90-days stay permit from the Non-imm-O visa expired. So your next application will happen a week or two before the Extensions expires on July 2, 2025. You should have collected 12 months of consecutive transfers by then

Having checked my passport stamps again I realised that the month of June last year encompassed the final 30 days of the initial 90 day Non - O visa. Thus the 90 days covered April - June. My 1 year extension of stay therefore began on 3 July 2024 and expires on 2 July 2025. My 12 x consecutive monthly statements will cover the period July 2024 to June 2025 inclusive. Thanks!

When you next APPLY you need at least 12 consecutive monthly transfers

6 June 2024 (day they issue your extension) until the day your application for next extensions
