This is my first time to extend my visa by 30 days 

Any advice for  the best time to get to changwattana before the madnesses

I'd say if you get there at 9:00-9:30 you'll get out pretty quick. As a rule I've found "tourists" don't get up that early and the sections that do 30 day extensions aren't really busy until closer to lunch and then again in the afternoon when they open up at 1:00 PM after lunch

FWIW: once you apply for that extension you can go and immediately apply for the Non-O over in section C-1. I was there last month with someone who didn't have enough time left, we went over and applied for a 30 day extension and went right back and applied for the 90 day Non-O after we had the extension.
