I’m in the process of applying for my retirement visa and on the Thai website it asks for “Proof of permanent residence in the country where the application is submitted”. What is acceptable?

Answer summary
To apply for a retirement visa in Thailand, you need to provide proof of permanent residence in the country where you are submitting your application. Acceptable documents include utility bills, a driver's license, or state ID cards as they demonstrate your residency. If you are applying from a country different from your passport's issuing nation, you may need to show more evidence of residence.

You may only need to prove residency if you're applying from a country different from your passport's issuing nation. Orelse you’ll just need to prove current location.
