Hi,

Applying for "O" yearly extension "thai children" using 40k transfers for 12 months. Do I only need statements from bank for 12 months showing monthly transfers over 40k or do I also need letter from bank showing amount in account on day of extension. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for the "O" yearly extension for Thai children using 40,000 baht transfers, you will need a bank statement showing monthly transfers for the past 12 months. Additionally, a bank letter indicating your account balance on the day of application may be required. Different immigration offices have varying requirements regarding the age of the bank letter; some accept it up to 7 days old, while others require it to be issued on the same day as the application. It's advisable to check with your specific immigration office for their requirements.

okay we're talking about THREE different things entirely

1 - There's the year transaction detail report <- that sometimes has to be ordered from your bank 5 days before you need it. It is the one that immigrations refers to because most people don't update their bank book every couple of weeks and it shows EVERY transaction by month so they can see the balance (for people who use banked money) and so they can see the incoming international transfers (for people using monthly transfers)

2 - There's the "standard" 6 line bank letter, has your name, (sometimes your passport) your account, and the balance of the account on the day they wrote the letter. <- This is the one that SOME (not all) offices allow to be no more than 7 days old (some want it the day you apply) ๐Ÿ˜•

3 - There's the updated bank book <- it has to be updated the date you apply for the extension

Immigration in Maha Sarakham sent me back to the bank because the bank person updated my passbook but Immigration wanted it updated by depositing a token amount of baht in it. May be the same in your case.

, "passbook update" means you can see a record on that day.

to get the book updated with the days date it's necessary to make a transaction otherwise the most recent prior transaction and date will be shown

had the same in Phuket, they wanted the bank book updated to the day of application but bank letter was allowed to be 7 days old

, it is office specific how many days old letters would be acceptable. Some up to 7 days, some 3 days, some only issuing day.

You would need a letter from Bank. Some offices accept a letter up to 7 days old, some only accept a letter issued on the day of application. Check with the immigration office in your province. If former, you need to update your passbook on the day of application.

so 12 months statements showing over 40k/month deposit, letter on day of application and updated bank book on day of application should do it? Thanks

, would work. Still, the best is to check with your local office.
