TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent experiences suggest that when extending a tourist visa in Bangkok, immigration officers typically do not ask for proof of onward travel, such as bus or flight tickets. However, a printed TM30 form is required. It's important to confirm whether you possess a proper tourist visa or are utilizing a visa exemption, as this may influence the location you must visit for the extension.

There is no proof of onward travel extending a tourist visa in Bangkok at the immigration office 🙂

How about we really ascertain if you do in fact have a tourist visa or are just here free stamp entry?

Did you BUY a tourist visa from a thai consulate before you came to thailand?

OR

Did you just show up here and get stamped in free stamp entry (visa exempt) for 60 days?

I ask that because if your really have a tourist visa (your stamp will be TR60) you need to go to the main immigration office at Chaengwattana Road Building B of the government complex

Where as if you are here visa exempt (your stamp will be ผ.60-ม.17) you go to the immigration office at IT Square Laksi Plaza

thanks for your reply. Thats great news don’t need proof of onward flight for extension.

Yes I bought a SETV because I was unsure if I could return this year once more on a visa exemption because that would have made it three this year so didn’t want to take the risk.

Iv already had visa exception January then came August on TV then plan to come back November on exemption.

The immigration officer was laughing ha.

Yes I need to go to Chaengwattana Road thanks for the reminder the first time I went to wrong one nightmare.
