For those of you who have already left or returned from Thailand to extend your 180-day visa, did they ask you for any documents at the airport besides the printed DTV Visa form?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Expats sharing their experiences of re-entering Thailand under the 180-day DTV visa indicate that generally, minimal documentation is required. While the printed DTV visa form is usually presented, many travelers report that they were not asked for additional documentation, with just a passport being sufficient in most cases. However, some travelers noted that questions may arise regarding their stay duration or plans to return to their home country. There are mentions of potential scrutiny regarding financial capacity, indicating that it might be wise to maintain proof of funds to avoid complications. Overall, experiences vary, but many report smooth entries without significant issues.

Just came back about a week ago to reset another 180 days, they didn’t say or ask anything. Passport and printed DTV, stamped in and sent on my way. They didn’t even ask for the TDAC, I did have it though

I just read that they may and can ask you to prove you have the 500,000 tbht in an acct! And she couldn’t prove it so was sent packing! The girl telling the story about her friend this just happened to and she was denied entry. Sooooo šŸ˜• sounds like you may want to have live on money and a separate $17k just sitting and be able to show proof for those boarder runs.. I would be LIVID if I have an active 12 month lease and going back home and can’t! Bayyy B. Say Pissed

That is the only example I have seen and it is not recent is it? I suspect there was more going on there. Tried for Extension in country first and could not get it as lack of funds.

Ooooh okay well all I can say is if you have to make boarder runs. Like for the DTV at the end of your your extension. Just have it ready to show just in case! I guess showing your bank app with it in there should suffice and satisfy! ļ漚Ÿ¤—

If they are going to ask for 500k to be shown they will ask for the other qualifiers too then? Booked and paid for courses in the case of soft power? This is only going to happen if there is a general change of policy by Immigration and currently this does not look likely.

I really think the risk is close to zero at the moment anyone having to show 500k at an entry point. This is coming from a 30 year Project Manager who used to harp on about risks lol :-)

I saw the English guy post the video. I asked about it and was told it was a while ago. That is the only example I have ever come across of someone saying a person was asked to show 500k at the border. I have zero evidence but the person tried to extend without the 500k at an Immigration Office. My suspicion is a note was put on their file.

Chances you get stopped at the border are low, but in case they ask you have to show you comply with visa requirements.

If you don't comply anymore you always have a risk, but that seems pretty normal to me.

Just give them your passport, they already know you have a DTV from your online tdac, no need for printed visa, nice little laminated cards etc Just your passport, of course you maybe questioned if you look a bit shady or you dress inappropriately.šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø

agree or as a screenshot in your mobile in case of a difficult IO but since tdac that in itself is stream-lining the process for faster entry not just for DTV holders but everyone.

The tdac process allows Immigration to reject in advance the ā€œbaddiesā€, so they can’t even arrive in Thailand. Tdac is probably one of the best things they have come up with. Like everything it’s probably not 100% but looks to be a winner.

NO the TDAC is not a screening process at all, It is only a digital arrival card. It replaces the old Tm6 form we had to fill out on landing. The ETA (which is proposed but delayed until further notice) An Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is an entry requirement for foreign nationals traveling to certain countries by air. It is digitally linked to the traveler’s passport and used to screen travelers before they arrive.

Anonymer Teilnehmer 773 there is extensive reports about the whole process in this fb group… but for workcation its all documents again. freshly dated. financial, work, etc… plus residency proof = contract, housebook, id of owner, pictures, map. the same as retirement visa holders need to present… for soft power you will need to proof everything again as well. ongoing activity. plus pictures of you doing the activity

I was asked how much time I plan to stay, and if I plan to visit my home country soon (probably bad mood of the officer).

I smiled and answered everything, in 2 minutes was stamped and free to go
