Planning to extend our TR 60 day visa in Phuket.

As far as I can tell, I need:

* passport and TM6

* Copies of above

* 2x passport photo

* 1900 B

Couple of question:

1. Is there anything else I need?

2. Is the Patong office open?

3. Will I get my passport back straight away?

4. Any other tips?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a TR 60-day visa in Phuket, you typically need your passport, TM6 form, copies of these documents, two passport photos, and a fee of 1900 THB. It's also advisable to inquire about any additional documents such as the TM30, though for TR extensions in Phuket, it seems not to be required. The Patong office is open but does not handle visa extensions; you will need to go to Phuket Town for that. Generally, you should receive your passport back right away, but there may be scenarios where an 'under consideration' stamp is issued, although this is less common for TR extensions in Phuket.

Got standard 30 day extension. Didn't try for covid one as only needed few days extra. TM30 wasn't needed, but we are staying in a hotel so it would have been filed

So far I've learnt:

Patong office is open but doesn't do visa extensions. (Go to Phuket town)

You can buy photos (100B) and copies (2B) in the little shop next to the immigration office (inside the compound)

In Phuket they don’t give under consideration stamps for TR extensions. They do sometimes for the Covid ones (depending on the time you apply). You shouldn’t need anything regarding the TM30 for a tourist visa extension either. You might find they are willing to give you the Covid extension even if you haven’t used your “regular” extension of 30 days. I heard reports of some people saying they will. If so you might need TM30, but unlikely as the online system is down. If you’re staying at a hotel ask the hotel for a copy of your booking/receipt.

You'll likely need your original and copy of TM30 as well.

3) you will get your passport back right away but it's possible they will give you an "under consideration" stamp asking you return in ~10-14 days with your passport. I'm not sure they do this with TR visa extensions, but they may try to give you the 60 day Covid extension which usually does have an under consideration period for the first extension.

Are you talking about STV-Special Tourist Visa? This is the visa that takes a lot of paperwork to get and extend for 90 days at a time.

Or are you talking about the TR single entry tourist visa that is for 60 days and can be extended for 30 days easily?

If the latter, you should edit your original question/post.

you’re right ... it’s a 60 day TR ... edit above.
