Hello, I am still waiting for all the information I need to apply for my Spouse visa and my tourist visa runs out 24th December.

I am in Phuket and wondered if anyone has experience or advice on the easiest place to go to get another tourist visa until I get my spouse sorted.

Can I apply anywhere online and then go to to pick up the visa or do I need to wait a couple of days in the country for it to be ready? Just trying to decide how to handle Christmas ๐Ÿ˜“

Thanks so much for any help

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to obtain a new tourist visa in Phuket since their current visa runs out on December 24th, while they are waiting for their spouse visa. They inquire if it's possible to apply online and pick up the visa or if they need to stay for a few days. Community responses suggest options such as visiting a local immigration office to convert their tourist visa to a Non Immigrant O visa or applying for a new Single Entry Tourist Visa at a Thai consulate, which can allow them to leave and return quickly.

Thanks Robert, we did discuss, I was hoping it would be have been done in 30 days but a bit tight! I really appreciate the help, thank you.

Thanks, I see that we discussed this all before. Do a border run for a new 30 day Visa Exempt Entry if you think that will give you time enough to get your documents or visit a Thai Consulate for a new Single Entry Tourist Visa. You apply in the morning and pick up the visa the next working day in the afternoon, you can leave tomorrow for this and be back way before 25th december.

If you're husband lives and works inside Thailand, visit your local Immigration Office and convert your Tourist Visa into the Non Immigrant O visa based on being a dependent on a foreigner with temporary stay inside Thailand.

My husbands company said I would still need to leave the country to convert it, do you think I should be able to convert without leaving? Thanks

Luckily I have him but we got married in Greece so had to get my Greek wedding certificate notarised in UK and then signed bu Thai Embassy in London. Currently waiting for the Thai Embassy to sign it so should be fine soon!

1. What's your nationality?

2. What's your visa history?

3. What's a "spouse visa"? (I.e. marriage to Thai? Or marriage to foreigner?)

4. Did you extend your current yet at your local immigration office?

You also know that, in Thailand, Christmas isn't a holiday, so most consulates wouldn't be closed, right?

I am British, I have been here once this year on a 60 day tourist visa with one 30 day extension. Spouse/Dependant visa for my British husband who has a work permit.

I know Christmas isn't a holiday for locals but I don't want to spend it stuck out the country separated from my husband on this day :)
