Hi everyone! I'm here on my second 60-day visa exempt stay. The first time, I visited January - March for 54 days. I came back April 29, and my passport is stamped to exit by June 27. I'd like to extend for an additional 30 days. So I have three questions:

1. Will I have any problems getting the extension?

2. What's the soonest I can go to the immigration office to get the extension - can I go next week or do I have to wait until I'm closer to my exit date?

3. Is there some other way I should go about getting the extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their 60-day visa exempt stay in Thailand. They want to know if they will encounter issues with the extension, when they can visit the immigration office to apply, and the best way to proceed with the extension process. Community responses indicate that extensions can typically be applied for 30 to 45 days before the current visa expiry, with some variations depending on the location. It's recommended to apply a week before the expiry and to be mindful of public holidays that may affect processing.

I give myself 1 week out, just in case. Also, be sure to check for holidays. Going up with 2 days left only to find out a 3-day holiday started sucks.

I'm shooting to go closer to 45 or 30 days out, so that I can change all my plane tickets and accommodations in Malaysia.

You can apply for an extension of your visa exemption. Most immigrations accept extension 30 days before your current stay expires, some as Jomtien and Samui only within the last week. Bangkok and Chiang Mai accept 45 days before.

I have another question - what do I need? Any particular forms?

@Jovan ******
You apply on a TM.7 form at the immigration. Normally you’ll need a receipt of your TM.30 address registration privat or hotell. You’ll need a pass photo, copy if ID-page and latest stamp in your passport and 1900 baht in cash.

Thank you! Would you know for Hua Hin if it's 30 or 45 days before?

@Jovan ******
Haven’t seen it mentioned among the 45 days immigrations (not among the 7 days either😉) so my best guess is that Hua Hin is one of the 30 days immigrations and as I can remember it’s also previously confirmed.

months. This time in July, if I get the extension, I'm planning to fly to Malaysia, Vietnam, then Japan at least a month in each place...I already have a plane ticket and a place to stay in Malaysia, I'd like to push them back. I'm just slow traveling until I decide where I want to retire. If I were to fly back after 6 months, I'd be denied entry?
