I’ve been checking the Hanoi and Ho-Chi-Minh embassy websites every hour for the last three days for an online appointment, but everything was fully booked. Yesterday at 2:00 a.m., an appointment spontaneously became available in Hanoi for the same day at 9:40 a.m. I booked the embassy appointment, the flight, the hotel, printed all documents —everything—within 3 hours. Five hours after booking, I was already sitting on the plane to Vietnam. I landed at the airport at 8:30 a.m. and took a taxi straight to the Thai embassy, arriving around 9:50 a.m. Luckily they didn’t mind the 10 minutes delay.
I submitted my documents yesterday (Wednesday) and by this evening, I had already received an email confirming my visa. Tomorrow (Friday), I can pick it up and fly back to Thailand.
My passport is from Western Europe, and I took the Medical Treatment Route.
I’ll make an overview of the total costs.
Costs:
1. DTV Visa 340 USD ~ 11000 baht
2. Flight BKK to Hanoi = 3660 baht
3. Hotel in Hanoi for 2 days = 2000 baht
4. Flight Hanoi to BKK = 1500 Baht
5. Mobile Internet for Vietnam = 430 baht
6. Grab Taxi from my home to Don Mueang airport = 380 baht
7. taxi hanoi airport to Thai Embassy = 800 baht
8. passport photo (70000 VND) 92 baht
9. photocopy (5000vnd) 6.69 baht
Total = ~19.808 Baht
