What are the requirements for the background check for the Thai O-A visa?
Now I have questions about the background check for the O-A visa. I’ve read it can be as simple as a letter from my local police station or as formal as an FBI check. Advice?
Answer summary
The background check for the O-A visa in Thailand can vary in complexity. It may be as simple as obtaining a letter from your local police station, but some consulates, such as the one in Washington DC, may require a more formal approach, mandating that the check be conducted by the State Police instead of a local police department. Some applicants have opted for comprehensive checks like the FBI background check.

The Washington DC consulate would not accept my local police background check. It had to be done by the State Police.

Ditto - I submitted a county police certificate, but they said only state or federal was acceptable. Michael *********
I did both.
