TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the requirements for a 90-day visa to Thailand, specifically the necessity to provide proof of not having been in crowded places for the two weeks leading up to travel. Multiple commenters express skepticism about the feasibility and enforcement of this requirement, highlighting issues like the legality in the UK and the nature of crowded places such as airports. There is a feeling that the regulations are overly burdensome and often impractical, with calls for clearer official guidance.

You won't get on a flight without a covid 19 Negative test less than 72 hours old if you transit through Dubai.

But look on the bright side, at least when (or if) it becomes official you will have to come here on a charter flights or private plane. That means you'll be in an aircraft with x number of people who have all tested negative for Covid. Unlike repatriation flights where
***
of the passengers are Thai and HAVEN'T been tested. Kinda makes the £250+ for testing seem a bit pointless if you're going to be cooped up in a plane pumping recycled air around for 16 hours!

Of course..... show you haven't been in crowded place.....but from Europe they organize flight from different cities and not direct to Thailand. So.... all ppl authorized must take a flight from their Country to go to take the flight to go Thailand. F.e. the last week from Italy it was from Amsterdam. But to go to Amsterdam the flight was full, and not of only ppl

going to Thailand....

Is not that flight also a "crowded place" ?

all my sympathy, really, but I was just thinking there's more in life than Thailand. I'm now in Italy. The whole south of Europe, Spain, Portugal, Italy,... Not as hot as Thailand but very relaxing and definitely not so expensive. For emotional wellbeing very adviceable. Just a thought.

My wife is Thai, we have a house there but this winter is a no go. It's truly not the end of the world. 😉🙏🙏🙏

Thanks to the ubiquitousness of CCTV here in Korea. I can document that I have not been on any forms of mass transportation for the past two weeks.

No, seriously, you have to address some of these demands like they’re coming from a three year old, I think. Just don’t give into them and wait them out, and eventually they’ll calm down and make some sense.

Ohh.... are you in contact with all the thai embassies ?

1200 ppl for month is nothing for the thai tourism industry...

, well, it is a start to test and see how opening tourism back up will work as far as preventing a virus spread. That is what the health department and the people living here are concerned about. Opening Phuket back up was rejected by the people living there. I am in contact with the ministry of foreign affairs, that is in contact with all embassies, and sets policy.

So you know sure that the Phuket's Association of Tourism and Hotel proposed a plan to allow tourists there including tests and tracking control but without quarantine.....

All the other proposal from government including quarantine in ASQ hotels at own expense are failing to help the thai tourism industry (and the new "idea" to make 2 week quarantine in own country before to travel, if approved, will kill it definitely), helping only the 65 asq hotels and leaving all the others thousands to close.

Many foreigners have family and home in Thailand..... with the money they must use for 2 week quarantine, they can stay 10 months (rent a condo room at 8000/month) and make 2 week self-quarantine isolation under control at their home........

Tell it to Your friend as a proposal to try a new policy and test.

, why do you say that? There are now over 2270 people that have seriously been in contact with Thai embassies trying to find out when they can get this 90 day tourist visa, with no concern at all of the quarantine requirements.

I understand that some people may not be too concerned about the quarantine in Thailand, but I would be very surprised if they were ok with having to quarantine, as well, in their own country for 2 weeks before flying. I think people who are really keen to get here will jump at any new idea before researching the actual details. I mean it costs nothing to register an interest.

As you say, nothing is firm until it’s gazetted, and I expect this new brainwave will fall down, like many others.

, you are not aware of how certain officials like to get their name in the news, no matter how true what they say is...lololol. The person that was in the news saying that was not even in the cabinet meeting deciding what will be done.

There is no official determination yet on what will be required for the possible 90 day tourist visa. Until it is published in the Royal Gazette, anything anyone says is pure hearsay, and means nothing. There is nothing final yet.

With a marriage license you could possibly be here in less than a month, depending on flight availability. Just something to think about.

, the local government administration office. That is where the actual legal marriage is done. It is not done at any wedding party, with, or without monks. Monks do not actually legally marry you, only the local administration office can do that.

The current semi official rumours that came out of the cabinet meeting is that they will allow only 1000 tourists a month under this new visa, and there are already over 2270 serious persons in contact with embassies wanting to do this.

The actual process of getting legally married here is not the wedding party. It is simply going to the local Amphur, and getting married there in front of an administrator, then it is registered. You can do that part in australia

, if you get legally married now, then you can get back, and then just have the wedding party with monks when you get back, or it could be a long wait

, if this is true, and you are by chance married, you can get to Thailand much easier with a type O visa based on marriage to a Thai. If you are not married, then get married, as it would be the fastest way, and can get you a one year extension after you get here, if you meet the easy financial requirement.

, there has been no official determination in Australia of when you can fly out on vacation, and from the looks of it, won't be this year. Thailand will have the requirements sorted long before Australia will let you fly out.
