What is the process and experience for obtaining an annual retirement extension in Thailand's CW office?

Just wanted to give a quick review of annual extension for retirement at CW.

2 weeks ago I went to my scheduled appointment time and even with all the information I had to hand write my reasoning for switching provinces from Samut Prakarn to Bangkok. All in all it went pretty well and the officer said that they were working to do a fast approval and to come back today with an updated bank book and bank letter.

Arrived this morning and within about 15 minutes had that submitted and my passport returned with the stamp through March 2024.

I walked away telling myself that's great. Still a total of 2 trips but no under consideration stamp. I just paid today and got the yearly. Not sure if this is a growing trend or not. Plus side only 1 stamp in passport haha

They were really focused on the bank balances more so than I've had in previous years so guessing that's more a CW thing.

Thanks to Tod for privately answering a couple of questions I had prior to scheduling. As always very helpful.

I understand the updated bank book situation apparently must be done on the day of the application, but what is the bank letter that they are requiring? ๏ฟผ

@Wayne *******
in Bangkok the bank letter can be up to 7 days old.

If it is your second yearly extension you need to order the year detail transaction history report (which some banks can do on the spot and some need to order from their head office so check with your bank BEFORE you need to get the extension)

Wow your Extension of Stay without a 30 days Under Consideration stamp never understood that..!!! The first time you ever get a Eof S it makes some sense. After if you are getting a straight renewal it doesnโ€™t make any sense at all. But it is Amazing Thailand ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™ƒ

AFAIK:
@Martin *******
no one gets a 30 day under consideration stamp when they apply for a retirement extension, only ones based on marriage or raising kids gets it

What tricked me is the guys whoโ€™s post it is mentioned it not getting Under Consideration stamp and was talking about Retirement EofS. Ok something I forgot as been on marriage for a good 4 years now But looked back at my retirement stamps in Passport. And obviously you were right Tod as always ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ™„

I wish all the IOs in CW were so helpful. Returned to Bangkok last week after spending two yrs in Issan. Returned to the same apartment building we lived in previous. Took exactly the same info to register my

TM 30 as I did four yrs previous. Including the exact same rental contract which has been used by the owners for years without problems. The lady IO wouldnโ€™t accept the rental contract without some further information being added. The mind boggles.
Tod *********
@Frederick ********
well if the rental contract wasn't IN date (as in it showed you were still renting), they had every right to request more information.
Frederick *********
@Tod ********
not sure what you mean by โ€œwasnโ€™t in date โ€œ . This was a new contract between me and the property owners. The contents and the wording were exactly the same as the previous contract we signed five years ago previous to re locating to Issan at the on set of Covid. This was accepted by CW immigration for my TM30 without any questions. This very same contract has been used by the owners for many years now without question.

@Frederick ********
sorry I thought you were using a rental contract from a previous year, that's what I meant by out of date, not current..

Strange though, but section B that does the TM30's is not Section L-1 that does retirement extensions ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Tod ********
yes I appreciate that Tod, I did deal with this in section B. I did get a bit concerned when she kept flicking through the pages multiple times as if looking for something to find fault with. Maybe just a bad day for her, certainly ruined my day.

@Tod ********
just to add Tod that the building owners had already notified immigration that I was living there. This they did on the day I arrived. The IO confirmed it showed this on her system.
Tod *********
@Frederick ********
you should have had the owners take a screen grab of their entry into the online TM30 system and print that out, that IS your TM30 receipt

Yeah every page I had was checked, double checked and yes checked again. I will say after 6 years of doing extension for marriage retirement is a general breeze to get through though

@Jeff ******
I appreciate what youโ€™re saying Jeff. However the wording of the rental contract for this apartment building has remained the same for a long time now and has always been accepted without any question. The latest rental contract I presented to CW immigration was verbatim of the previous contract I presented to them for my previous rental agreement with the company. This previous contract was accepted without question. I am of the firm opinion that it depends entirely on the IO you are fortunate or unfortunate at having to deal with on that particular day.

Yes CW was cool for me too. 1 hour but all together ... no questions asked. 1 year straight. I was there last month. Missed some xerox work but, she did it on her table itself. Wanted only bank letter. Checked TM 30 and 90 days reporting, all was done right so nothing more. Yes this group is very useful.

Thanks to all of you for great advice over the years. Good prep work usually ends with a decent result.

Making an appointment really made the difference in total time at CW.
