DTV EXTENSION IN PATTAYA

Hi everyone,

Has anyone here extended their DTV visa at Pattaya Immigration after the first 6 months? I really don’t want to do a border run — I’m on the freelance DTV and can prove everything.

• What documents you needed for the extension —

are they the same ones as for the initial application, or are there additional ones required?

• For example, do I need to show:

– proof of invoices / work done for clients?

– proof of 500,000 THB in savings?

– anything else like rental contract, tax docs, bank statements, letter of explanation?

• Was the process difficult or straightforward?

Thank you guys

We do offer this service, but please note it’s mainly for convenience and is more expensive than doing a border bounce. If you absolutely do not wish to leave Thailand and would prefer an in-country extension, we can assist. Otherwise, the best option is to exit and re-enter to receive a new 180-day stamp.

Even if you did get this extension in Pattaya you'd have to bounce at the end of it anyway. I can only imagine this would be the last immigration office I'd want to do this extension at.

Graham Seal the op wants ‘longer’ than 6 months.

Yes im sure. DTV is designed for ‘up to 6 monthś

If they want longer, they should get a different visa.

Yes im sure.

Elías Molina 17 months continuously? Well thats abusing the visa, and you will end up losing it, and probably blacklisted, not to mention ruining dtv for everyone.

PurpleOtter5805 not really correct.

The visa is valid for 5 years.

Each entry gives you 180 days. And you should be able to just take a daytrip somewhere and come back to Thailand same day for a border bounce to get another 180 days until your visa is no longer valid.

Some Immigration Offices will also let you extend inside the country for another 180 days, but they're not too keen on doing that most places.

You basically need to show everything you did to get the visa in the first place but updated to the present time. For finances they want 500k baht for 30 days but they may want to see it in a Thai bank account which is difficult for people on a DTV. Best to visit the immigration office and ask

Why don't you ask Immigration what they require as I very much doubt if anyone has got an extension there? [I have only heard of one successful application in the whole of Thailand].
