What are the requirements for applying for the Soft DTV Visa in Thailand, particularly regarding flight tickets and accommodation?

Hello all!  Pete in Seattle here.  My wife and I will be applying for the Soft DTV Visa in the next few weeks.  We are getting acquainted with some of the requirements.  Here are two questions that we are a bit confused with:

1. Provide 1 way flight E ticket.  Since we are selling g our house, we are unsure of the actual date we will travel.  Any hints on how to proceed?

2. Proof of prolonged residence for at least 6 months.  This seems odd.  Our initial plan was to find an Air BNB for a month while we search for a condo to rent.  If I read this correctly, do we need to book an Air BNB or rent a condo sight unseen for 6 months?  This is confusing.

Any help you guys can provide would be great!  Thnx in advance.

You could book a fully refundable flight, get the confirmation and use this for proof of travel. You can then cancel or rebook the flight you actually want.

You can apply 3 months before you want to travel to Thailand so should be easy enough to pick a day that suits.

Or maybe apply once you sold the house and use the settlement period to apply for the DTV.

6 months Proof of residence sounds unrealistic. We only had a 10 night hotel reservation.

When I got mine, they didn't ask those on the LA e-visa website.  I'm a WA resident too.  Make a dry run on the site with LA and see what it says.  It will cancel out or  can be changed until you submit.

As far as I know London is the only embassy that asks for an e-ticket. I wasn't sure how long to book accommodation so I booked an apartment with bookings dot com that was free to cancel

Where do you hear of these requirements? They aren't on the evisa application portal when selecting DTV as your visa. 4 months in the group, lots to scroll through.

1. It mention INTENDED flights, not booked, payd and confirmed tickets

2. Try to check the Thai consulate website

6 months of booked accommodation is as far as I know only when you apply in Malaysia, Seattle does not sound part of that country.

1. Flight booking will work 2. For me I sent current hotel or home  address ( like hotel booking with passport or bill with your name ) I am citizen of Myanmar . I applied from hochmin city Vietnam. I asked hotel to print out receipts with my name and passport and arrival stamp. I think they want to check you apply outside of Thiland. I didn’t provide any booking of Thailand in Thiland.  If they really need you can book with free cancellation in Agoda

Where are you applying? 6mths of booked accommodation is rarely asked for. You can book a hotel for a week or so with vast majority of embassies. Can submit an intended flight unless requested for an actual booking then best to book a flexible ticket in case of delay of approval.
