Hey everyone,

I would like your help in a slightly different matter please. For my final year Uni dissertation, I will be looking at the psychological effects of long distance relationship separation during the Covid-19 pandemic.

If anyone here is currently in a long distance relationship and has not seen their partner for a long time? I would really appreciate it if you could take 5-10 minutes to complete my online questionnaire.

Even if you have been recently reunited with your partner, you can still fill it out, you'll just need to trace your memory back to the stressful experiences and your mindset whilst you were stranded abroad.

This is a first of its' kind, so i'm hoping for some really interesting data.

Thank you (-:

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around a university dissertation topic focusing on the psychological effects experienced by individuals in long-distance relationships during the Covid-19 pandemic. Community members share their personal experiences regarding separation from partners and the emotional toll it has taken on them. Many have agreed to participate in the associated survey, highlighting themes of mental health challenges, communication, and trust in relationships during these trying times.

I had to go back to South Africa due to a family emergency. Me and my fiancè have already worked in Thailand for one year at that stage.

After 1 year and 2 months apart i am finally back in Thailand and finish my quarantine in bangkok on saturday.

So ready for our new chapter.

One thing i have learned this past year apart is if your relationship is strong enough, trust is there, communication is there and being able to talk openly about your feelings then you will be just fine.

I answered your survey. 😃

I Just want to thank everyone who’s took the time to complete the questionnaire so far 😊. I’ve had so many responses within the last 20 hours. And I’m only 25 more responses off the target I set. Thought it would take me up to summer to get to this point 😂.

Very greatful to you all for your help 🙏🙏

i do my best to motivate myself.. normally it works but I am only human (this one year since 18 March 2020) - it is damn difficult .. will take a couple of days to be alone to rejuvenate myself.. there is like a 6 to 8 weeks of being alright then.. there would be something that triggers the sad ness and feeling of hopeless ness..

you’re only human mate, can’t be 100% all the time. Is there any plans to see your partner again soon?

thank you, this study is definitely for people in your situation, i'm hoping it'll promote some exposure for long distance relationships, and that they should be classed as 'essential travel', if anything like this was to happen again in the future.
