Normal. You were directly exposed to a positive case. If you're not for this reason then when would a quarantine be appropriate?

The positive person could spread covid when he walks to the toilet. So not only travellers sitting next to is subject for quarantine. I think it's redicilous. We do tests but no matter result still aparently have to stay in quarantine if been exposed.

absolutely true they could. But who is at the most risk the person sitting next to someone who is COVID positive or the person 10 rows back?

Still it's redicilous that a person that tests negative has to quarantine in Hospitel.

I suspect the authorities are wary of people saying they'll self isolate. Reading many peoples comments over the past year, there are a lot of people who can't be trusted to do the right thing, not even willing to wear masks or get vaccinated. Trusting people becomes difficult.

Just waited for that answer :-) Yes there is. But lets say you risk a fine of.....500k baht? There is ways to make people do as they are told. And it is actually already up that people that test positive with mild or no symptoms has to only selfisolate. So it might come true soon.
