Hi all. Does anyone know the opening dates of Samui immigration over the New Year period? Furthermore, is the date stamped in your passport the date you need to be out or are you able to extend on that date?

TLDR : Answer Summary
During the New Year period, Samui Immigration will be closed on January 1st and 2nd, reopening on January 3rd. Regarding the passport stamp date, it is crucial to understand that the stamped date indicates when you need to leave the country. However, it's possible to obtain an exemption stamp a few days prior to that date, allowing you to stay longer without losing any days if done before the expiration of your visa.

Hi Stuart. The stampdate means either cross the border that date before 23:59 or get an exemption stamp for another 30 days if applicable which you can do a few days before already. They give you the exemption from the stampdate so you do not loose days if you go before the end of your visa. Good luck!

If the date on that stamp is a extension you will have to leave the country.

If so hopefully you have not done that twice this year already.

plus that two in a calendar year is for 30 day visa exempt entries

That is only applicable when you go twice over land in 1 calender year. Flying in has no limitations in the amount ... only landcrossing is limited by 2... although immigration always have the right to refuse entry on whatever reason.
