What should I expect when going to Samui Immigration for my embassy letter extension?

I am heading to Samui Immigration tomorrow to close the loop on my embassy letter extension. I was dated for return on October 11th, but was told coming on the 12th is fine. I saw some posts about people being turned away and told to come back after the 20th, but I believe most of them were coming before their actual date to return.

My questions are: 1. Has anyone here gone on their date to Samui Immigration and gotten their stamp? and 2. was there a particular time of day (morning) (afternoon) that was better?(I feel like I saw some posts in other groups about people coming in the morning and being told to come back in the afternoon for the stamp).

Did I get this right? They told you it is fine to come.... only to tell you they do not have the stamp? Puzzled.

Update on Samui Immigration. I just went to close my loop (scheduled for October 11) and was told they do not have the stamp yet. They are waiting for it. They will probably get it sometime this week, but said to call first to check. They said officially anyone that has my situation (extended with embassy letter before the 26 Sept and are waiting for the stamp) can come before October 31 to close the loop (as soon as they get the stamp of course) ๐Ÿ˜Š

My situation is different to yours but i can offer that the office is very quiet, about 50% of usual, so time of day shouldnt be a problem.

I went there last thursday with a date on the 11th of october. They turned me down with no special date to come back. But i am leaving tomorrow and i know 1 they are closed on the 13th and 2 i am nervous to try to leave without a proper stamp or a letter from them as i have no proof i went to see them.

you won't have any problem leaving the country.

and to re enter later whenever they will allow us back???

, you won't have problems getting out and the fact you've been on amnesty won't affect you if/when you apply to get back into the country.

thankyou so much. I already do not want to leave but the visa things and trying to get a Covid test before leaving (airline requirement) is a real nightmare!

I wouldn't go tomorrow as immigration offices are closed.

AFAIK; everyone who has tried to go 'close the loop' there has been turned away and told to come back later in the month.

All you can do is show up and see what they tell you.

Post on a f/b page related to the islands and see what people are doing OR call the Immigration office and ask them

thanks for the info. ๐Ÿ™ I'm going to show up and just see what they say. I'm on Samui so it's no hardship for me to go but I'm feeling for those who might have to travel some distance. I'll let you guys know what happens. ๐Ÿ‘
