How does the online 90-day reporting process work in Thailand, and what should I do if my report is rejected?

Sequence of emails from 90 day online reporting. .

People ask all the time if they were approved when they filed their 90 day report online. This is how that works

When you file a 90 day report using the online web portal, the minute you submit it you get an email confirming you FILED a report online

That initial email is headered like this

[𝗧𝗠.𝟰𝟳] (𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗣𝗒π—₯𝗧 𝗑𝗒 : *) 𝗙𝗒π—₯𝗠 𝗙𝗒π—₯ π—”π—Ÿπ—œπ—˜π—‘ 𝗧𝗒 π—‘π—’π—§π—œπ—™π—¬ 𝗒𝗙 π—¦π—§π—”π—¬π—œπ—‘π—š π—Ÿπ—’π—‘π—šπ—˜π—₯ 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗑 𝟡𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 π—₯π—˜π—–π—˜π—œπ—©π—˜π——

That does not mean it was approved, doesn't mean it was rejected, just means they received your online 90 day report application and will process it

Then you wait to get one of two emails

You will either get this one

[𝗧𝗠.𝟰𝟳] (𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗣𝗒π—₯𝗧 𝗑𝗒 : *) 𝗙𝗒π—₯𝗠 𝗙𝗒π—₯ π—”π—Ÿπ—œπ—˜π—‘ 𝗧𝗒 π—‘π—’π—§π—œπ—™π—¬ 𝗒𝗙 π—¦π—§π—”π—¬π—œπ—‘π—š π—Ÿπ—’π—‘π—šπ—˜π—₯ 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗑 𝟡𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗦 π—•π—˜π—˜π—‘ 𝗔𝗣𝗣π—₯π—’π—©π—˜π——

which will have a PDF in it of your 90 day report receipt showing your next due date (which you print out and put in your passport)

OR

you will get this one

[𝗧𝗠.𝟰𝟳] (𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗣𝗒π—₯𝗧 𝗑𝗒 : *) 𝗙𝗒π—₯𝗠 𝗙𝗒π—₯ π—”π—Ÿπ—œπ—˜π—‘ 𝗧𝗒 π—‘π—’π—§π—œπ—™π—¬ 𝗒𝗙 π—¦π—§π—”π—¬π—œπ—‘π—š π—Ÿπ—’π—‘π—šπ—˜π—₯ 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗑 𝟡𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗦 π—•π—˜π—˜π—‘ π—₯π—˜π—π—˜π—–π—§π—˜π——

which means for some reason (usually noted in the email) the report was not approved

You can apply again if you're within the window to apply, I once had to apply 4 times (was denied 3 times) because I couldn't get the address to match the TM30 exactly but got approved on the 4th try

TLDR : Answer Summary
Filing a 90-day report online in Thailand involves submitting your application through the web portal, after which you receive an email confirming receipt of the report. This email does not indicate approval or rejection; it simply confirms that your application is being processed. Following submission, you will receive one of two emails: one confirming approval (with a PDF receipt showing the next due date), or one indicating rejection, often with reasons provided. The conversation highlights issues with online reporting, such as rejections due to address discrepancies, and suggests applying within specific timeframes to avoid complications.

moving rooms is a new address according to immigrations so I'd say you'd have to have a new TM30 filed

The place IΒ΄m staying does not have a street name nor soi name. And thatΒ΄s how it is repoorted on my TM 30 - no problem. But when I tried to file my second 90 day report online (yes, I was exactly in the right time frame) the system did not accept my report. It did not say why but the only odd thing out was the fact that thereΒ΄s no street/soi name. Yes, I chatted with the landlady and she said this is indeed the case. This is a resort where I am stayin, not a regular house adress. According to her, there are lots of addresses like this in Thailand so sgould not be a problem. I tried to file my report online at least 4 times without any success - frustrating as hell. Any advice for this kind of scenario, please?

p.s. I should add that the system did not give any error after I filed. But when I checked the next day, my report was not there - not found...

, when you go to your local office next time, bring failed TM47 form (print from your log) and ask the officer how to fill the fields in your case. I did once as I got similar problem before, and the officer checked the system and wrote down the right wording. The online reporting system accepted next one which I followed her advice.

I've tried twice. One rejection said my visa was bad (it wasn't) and the other said it was outside the timeframe (it wasn't). But I'll try again next time it's due.

remember there are two dates that you fill in, one is your most recent entry and the other one is when your current stamp expires. (That's the one that people mistake for when their visa expires if they have a long-term visa).

The other one is many offices allow you to apply only from 2 weeks before the due date down until 1 week before the due date. That gives you a one week window to apply online outside that they will reject it

Oh rats. I put in the wrong date. Noted for the next time. Looks like I'll be going there in person.

The dates were right but I did it on Mar 7 and it was due on Mar 10 so maybe that was too late. Good news is I went to Immigration in Bangkok and was given a ticket for the seniors, etc counter. Took me a minute to figure out how that worked but then I went to the right counter, was served immediately and was out in no time. One of those seniors perks like the over 70 line at the airport immigration. You know, the one with no travellers in it. Not sure that makes it worth being this old but there had to be some perks. 🀣

I could add that the last day to file the TM47 online is ONE DAY BEFORE the last day you have to make your 90-day report.

Reason for this is that Immigration will only judge your Application the day AFTER they have received it!

careful with that advice some offices want you to apply between 2 weeks before and 1 week before, so if you burn down all the time it could be rejected.

There's no advantage running the time out when you file online. Just file no more than 2 weeks before and you should be okay.

There is a disadvantage because the earlier you file the earlier your next reporting date will be as it will be 90 days from your last report not 90 days from the last due date

and my advice was FILE right after you're allowed to at the 2 week before mark so if it's rejected you still have plenty of time to show up and file in person πŸ™‚

Keep in mind more and more offices are requiring the first 90 day report when you return from abroad to be done in person. You can try it online (it would be due 89 days from the date you stamped in to the country) but most people get this rejection email

yep, this is now every time I return to the kingdom. Reporting in hua hin if that helps.

Never used to be an issue when I was in BKK 18months back. A sign of the times I guess.
