Out of curiosity, what is to stop you doing the day 5 rapid test on day 1 straight after getting your negative pcr test result? ๐Ÿค”

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the timing of COVID-19 tests during the quarantine period in Thailand. It suggests that while there is technically nothing stopping one from taking the Day 5 rapid test on Day 1 after getting a negative PCR test result, doing so may lead to issues such as recording multiple tests in one day, which could affect one's COVID insurance coverage. Community members also mention experiences with the tracking app required for international travelers and how test results must be properly uploaded and marked with the correct date.

Your results are recorded.. so it will show you've done 2 tests in one day..

So you won't be covered by your covid insurance if you need it.

I had done the sandbox. They require you download an app to track your movements. The stupid app starting sending me message on day 7, I think. I got the test done on day 8 uploaded results day 9. The app would accept the results. Eventually I figured out I had to tell the app what day I completed the test and it accepted the results.

"so if you test positive you'd just head out to infect people? No wonder some countries don't want to relax rules." Apologies. Failure of eyesight, didnt see all of michaels post. ๐Ÿ™„

sorry. I only saw part of your reply. I agree with what you suggested, self isolation is the best way. My son and his wife in usa both did this ( at different times)

Did you read my answer properly i said i would isolate, i have three properties and can easily isolate at one of them (have food and supplies). My backpack with passport etc I have 5 test kits in there.

Me and the wife have discussed this as our main home is on family land with Mother in law in another house and she refuses to be vaccinated. Our condo in Bangkok has people self isolating there and are all set up for it. But i would probably head for the farm and continue working there away from anyone.

My Father passed away fron covid in the first wave whilst i was actually stuck in quarantine in Bangkok july 2020.

I am very aware of the risks for my mother in law but with two nieces in school probably only a matter of time unfortunatly
