Hello. Looking to fly to Thailand mid March, test and go, would it be advisable to arrive morning rather than early evening to better guarantee results in time within the 24 hours from the covid test? And insurance cover any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the timing of arrival for travelers participating in Thailand's 'Test and Go' program. Many users suggest that arriving in the morning rather than the evening could enhance the likelihood of receiving COVID test results within the required 24 hours. It is noted that tests generally yield results within 6-8 hours, and that arriving before 6 PM is crucial for day 1 requirements. Additionally, users recommend AXA and Luma Health for insurance coverage, emphasizing that coverage begins upon passing through Thai immigration.

If you arrive at your hotel early am you should get results early pm same day .

When I came I checked in 3pm tested 8pm results 1pm next day.

People who tested early am was leaving when I went down for my test . So in my opinion yes earlier the better

Note that Test and Go "day 1" is arrival before 6pm. Read fine print on ASQ and Thai pass authenticated sites.

AXA policy states that coverage starts as soon as you pass through Thai immigration

Not sure arrival time will make much difference. From posts here results are generally 6-8 hours. AXA and Luma health are often mentioned for insurance. If you click on topics at the top of the page and click #insurance you’ll see plenty of recent posts about the subject.

i suppose the benefit of arriving later is you can go to bed and hopefully get up next day and head off!.

im in thailand now and the general mood seems to be relaxing now that omicron is the dominant strain and is proving to be less serious.

i think even here they are realising things have to get back to " normal".

so keep looking because even by march they might have relaxed the rules .
