TLDR : Answer Summary
The typical wait time for a Visa on Arrival (VoA) at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) around 6:30 AM can vary. Based on experiences shared by the community, the wait may take approximately 30-45 minutes since the recent fee waiver has expedited the process. However, factors such as the nationality of the travelers and the time of year can affect this timing. Travelers are advised to plan accordingly, especially if they have connecting flights, as the overall process may be tight if arriving with a family. Suggestions include applying for the Visa on Arrival online to speed up the process when applicable.

We can not predict waiting times, but you have already lot of suggestions. Even how to follow signs on an ariport. I close the commenting, if you have any further questions, let them be Thai Visa related.

As it is a connecting flight, maybe you thought you can remain inside the Suvarnabhumi airport and get your VOA in Krabi and go through Immigration in Krabi ? You can do this in Chiang Mai or Phuket, however these are "international airports" with their own immigration, yet Krabi is not an international airport. That is why you have to go through the visa and immigration process in the Suvarnabhumi Airport, and for all this you time frame is very very tight

Step out of the place, follow the big signs Visa On Arrival, if you have the Visa in your passport, follow the signs southern terminal Krabi, Phuket etc.

Yes we have to apply for VoA in BKK itself. I am travelling through Thai Airways. May I know which floor I will land and which floor is VoA and which floor is immigration counters located. And then which floor I need to go for my connecting flight.

With a stop in Bangkok, they have to apply for the Visa on Arrival in Bangkok, than walk to the connecting flight gate to Krabi, check in and there is Immigration check point. Just two desks because the amount of people using the connection is small.

she should ask the airline to provide support at their arrival gate for a successfull connecting. When boarding off the airplane you often see helpers with signs who are giving support to passengers for doing the VOA and catch their connecting flight

now this is an interesting aspect. If they will do their VOA and Immigration in Krabi, they surely will catch their connecting flight at the Suvarnabhumi Airport, no problem at all as they stay inside the airport concourses, just have to walk a long way. And their luggage gets checked through

Krabi Airport has direct flights to China, Norwegian, Doha, SIngapore and Kuala Lumper, sounds like an International Airport to me.

You can speed it up slightly by applying online

in case you are a family of Three from India, arriving ar 6:30 in Suvaranbhumi Airport, need a Visa on Arrival first before proceeding to the booths of the immigration and afterwards have to pick up your luggage and try to check in onto a flight to Krabi which leaves at 8:10 . .my answer is. . . .you won't make it . it is as clear as mud, no way how you turn it. I am sorry to tell you but you should have planned your travel under more clever considerations

Yes, I am traveling with family of 3 (including infant) in first week of December from India. I will not check in for Krabi, as it's a connecting flight luggage will be collected at Krabi. Considering this, is there any chance I can make it?

please tell us which nationality you are. Upon then we can advise you properly

Since he asked about a Visa on Arrival I assumed he's from India

what do you mean by "visa on arrival" ? Are you citizen of a country who need a visa on arrival, or are you citizen of a country who get a "30 days visa exempt" stay ?
Lucian *********
It depends but now, since the fee has been waived it decreased significantly. I guess around 30-45 mins tops.
