TLDR : Answer Summary
The acceptability of a joint bank account with over $16,000 for a Dtv visa application depends on the specific requirements of the embassy from which the application is made. Some embassies may have higher financial requirements, so it is advisable to check directly with the embassy for their specific guidelines.

It depends on the embassy she is applying from. Some may require double the amount.
