TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers shared their experiences and detailed requirements for a round trip from Bangkok to Phnom Penh under Thailand's Test & Go scheme. Key requirements included obtaining a Cambodia e-visa online, securing hotel bookings, providing proof of vaccination, and getting a PCR test done within 72 hours of departure. Recommendations for navigating customs and transport in Phnom Penh were also discussed, alongside advice for returning to Thailand, including the need for a tourist visa, applying for Thai Pass, and purchasing COVID insurance. Overall, experiences varied, with some travelers having smooth transitions while others faced challenges regarding documentation and customs inquiries.

Has anyone bought covid insurance when coming back to Thailand? I've looked at AXA but they don't cover hotel accommodation(see picture). Any suggestions or recommendations?

Hello everyone. I have just completed a border bounce . The reason I had to leave was that I finished my job after 2 years. Never had a single covid extension. Anyway just got back from Cambodia PP city. I flew on the 25th and came back the 28th. For Cambodia, the airport arrival went kind of smoothly. The guy who did my ATK test was very aggressive and rude. Despite this everyone on the plane was told to go after 10 minutes so we were all negative. I stayed at a lovely hotel called Botique Vacation in the heart of PP and the staff were great. The next morning I went to get tested at the Inter Medical centre. I found this place to be a little disorganized but I got my RT PCR done by midday. I spent the next 2 days sight seeing. PP was lively but I didn't party because of course I didn't want to test positive for covid. I enjoyed the sights and dined in outside restaurants that practised social distancing. When picking my negative RT PCR test up I noticed that the paperwork was wrong but they corrected it quickly. When leaving Cambodia I had to present all my test and go paperwork at check in. They checked for an onward flight and I had to show a copy of my Cambodian e Visa when leaving. On entering Thailand, despite always having a longterm Visa and no covid extensions, I was grilled a little as to why I didn't have a visa. The onward ticket I booked as a precaution saved the day. So anyone entering regardless of their history, it is much better to come in on a tourist visa or another Visa rather than visa exempt. I wasnt the only one that was grilled. Others that had stopped working and left or stopped studying and bounced back were quizzed. I have longterm Visa options so that's why I just bounced back in 30 days. I'm at the 1 day detention hotel now. In all it hasn't been awful, but it isn't over yet. I enjoyed PP but could never really relax. With all the stress I wouldn't have bothered comming to Thailand for a holiday. Just doesn't seem worth it but after living here for 13 years and not getting my new paperwork in time, I had no choice.

Hi everyone, I just arrived in Phnom Penh yesterday from BKK by plane, and will reenter Thailand again about two weeks later.
What do you need before departure from Bangkok to Cambodia?
1. Air ticket, single way is fine.
2. Hotel booking, just a few days is fine, copy the reservation. I booked 3 days.
3. Cambodia E-visa, just apply on line (
*****************
and you'll get it via email within 3 working days. 36 US dollars. You must copy E-visa.
4. Vaccined proof, either certificate or vaccine passport is fine, but you must copy.
5. Before your departure at BKK airport, you must do PCR test within 72 hour. I went here :
**********************
1500 Baht per person, they give you result in 8 hours and send result to your Email, so you don't need go to the clinic again to pick up. Just (MUST)print out the result from your Email.
Advise all documents have 2 copies each, with original documents together.
6. They will give you PCR test after customs stamp when arrive in Cambodia(I landed on Phnom Penh),
but don't need to pay anything, just sit there and wait for result, it needs about 20 or 30 minutes for waiting result, then they will tell you that you are free to go.
There are some tip boxes on the PCR test desks and they wish you pay some tip but you don't have to do that. Some customs staffs might ask you(especially if you are Chinese) for tips as well, you just ignore and say no. I said no to all of them and there is nothing wrong with my customs stamp and PCR test in Phnom Penh airport.
When take a taxi from Phnom airport to city, you better have a check online with information, airport staffs might work with taxi drivers together and they might quote 9 or 8 US dollars to city. I bargained with a Tutu car and paid him 4 dollars. You can use Grab to book a car or Tutu car in Phnom Penh airport as well.
Phnom Penh is not super clean and well organized city, but I heard that Siem Reap is very clean and well organized place.
2. After you got Visa, then you can apply Thai Pass online. You MUST apply Thai Pass to enter Thailand.
You need book double trips tickets (in and out Thailand), you can choose a real return flight and pay but can cancel with full refund.
You must buy covid insurance.
You need PCR test within 72 hours before departure at airport in Cambodia.
You must choose one night (the first night) hotel from the list on SHA extra +, when you arrive at Thailand, the hotel should come to pick you up at airport and they will give you PCR test at hotel and you must stay in the hotel until the next day they have result of PCR test.
I think all details of requirement above will be showed when you apply Thai Pass online, just follow the guide.
That's all I know so far, if there's something changed, I'll update.

If you hold CHINESE PASSPORT, then you must stay in Cambodia longer than 6 months and then you can apply Thai Tourist Visa and get result of visa from Thai Embassy within 3 working days. If you live in Cambodia less than 6 months and apply Thai Tourist Visa then you can get result of from Thai Embassy about one month and half.
This is only for CHINESE PASSPORT Holders! I'm in the situation now, so tired.
why not ask here so others can benefit from the knowledge. Maybe you wouldn't even have had to make this post at all if the information was here already in a post like yours because the questions were answered in the open
