Would be grateful for some advice or tips from those who have successful obtained their DTV and have a similar situation:

* husband and wife duo both between 60-70 y.o

* based on research soft power seems to be the way to go, does applying for the same activity matter or can it be different ones? (leaning towards culinary for one and medical tx for the other)

* for those that have secured the DTV via medical treatment, do you have recommendations for specific dental clinics or general wellness clinics that could help streamline the process?

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
A couple aged between 60-70 is looking for advice on obtaining a DTV visa in Thailand. They are considering different soft power activities: culinary for one and medical treatment for the other. It is suggested that only one spouse needs to apply for the soft power, allowing the other to apply as a dependent. Recommendations for dental and wellness clinics and whether different activities for each spouse affect the application will also be beneficial.

Why not just get a retirement and a piggy back?

Hi Ariel, from our experience it would not matter if the activities of husband and wife are different as the application will be looked at individually.

Like some others have shared, the other option is applying as a dependent after 1 applicant has been approved.

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions. Happy to share that we have assisted over 250 students successfully attain their DTV visas through our school's cooking programs, so we're quite familiar with the process.

If you plan to be only for shorter periods in Thailand during the next 5 years, DTV might be the right visa to go for, and when married only one needs the soft power activity.

When you plan to live in Thailand the non-o retirement is the better visa.

If legally married, one can apply for a soft power and then once approved, the other can apply based on being the spouse of someone with a DTV. Therefore, the second spouse doesn’t need to apply via soft power
