What is the process for Australians applying for a DTV visa with a culinary class in Thailand, and can a dependent spouse join?

👋 Hi, Any Australian here applied DTV with softpower? I am considering applying DTV with culinary class and after a bit of research I found a couple of courses in BKK that I could attend. My question is my husband will be travelling with me once I get the dtv visa. According to the research that I’ve done, he is eligible to be with me as dtv visa holder spouse as long as we show enough fund to cover in our bank account. My questions are:

1) has anyone done softpower dtv in Australia if so, how easy/difficult was the process?

2) In the case of partner visa to the DTV visa holder, do they get the same entry eligibility ie, can stay upto 180 days with multiple entries for 5 years?

3) I would prefer the DTV eligible culinary classes in places like Hua Hin or Chiangmai however I couldn’t find any DTV eligible culinary classes outside of BKK. Does anyone know such course outside of BKK? Any advise from any Australians who have done this would be much appreciated. TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks information from Australian expats about the process of applying for a DTV visa in Thailand, specifically through a culinary class. The user asks about the experience of others who have applied via the Soft Power program, the eligibility of a spouse to accompany them on a DTV visa, and whether there are suitable culinary classes outside of Bangkok. Comments provide insights indicating that the DTV visa must be acquired first for a spouse to apply, emphasize that requirements may vary by embassy, and mention alternative courses available.

There is no such thing as "DTV eligible culinary classes" as each Embassy/Consulate sets their own requirements and standards for what they will accept

I'm pretty sure you apply at the same time. There's a course in CM with some cooking and more language. DM. I'm on DTV soft power to learn Muay Thai. Applied in Taiwan though.

You have to get your DTV visa issued first. Your spouse can then apply for a dependant DTV based on your visa. You must have yours first as one of the requirements for their visa is to upload a copy of your visa that has already been issued. Once they have the visa it's the exact same as any other DTV visa.
