Hi all. Thanks for posting great advice on the DTV visa. Older Aussie couple here. I have a couple of questions.
1) Is there a reputable Cooking school in Hua Hin to help with obtaining DTV?
2) Which is the best neighbouring country for processing the DTV once we have left Thailand after our tourist visit?
3) Would you recommend we both apply individually or one as primary and other as trailing spouse?
We have a joint account with over the 50,000 Baht limit, would this be acceptable for use with both our applications?
Thank you for your help with these questions.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian couple is seeking information on the DTV visa process, including recommendations for reputable cooking schools in Hua Hin, the best neighboring countries for visa processing, and advice on whether to apply as individuals or as primary and trailing spouse using a joint bank account with sufficient funds.
If you do a quick search in the group, both Vietnam and Jakarta seem to be the go to embassies in the area. The biggest issue will be getting a course that is accepted, some aren't so you'll need to pick one that's "real". You would both have to register and pay for the course so it would be cheaper to just have one on the course and other as a dependent, assuming you can provide the marriage license, etc. That would mean you'd need a longer stay where you choose as the main DTV holder would have to apply first and once approved, then the dependant would apply.
Best country to apply in, is your homecountry, where they will be familiar with the documents supplied for the application.
It is 500.000 bath each depending on Embassy.
