ORIGINAL POSTER
In Vientiane and waiting for approval of the E-Visa. Strongly recommend scanning all relevant documents including passport front page, bank statement, marriage certificate, etcetera. The system kicked back all my phone pictures as "blurry". I have paid one fellow (directly across from the Embassy)to help me get the thing done and dusted. The 'E' doesn't stans for easy. If you apply and the 14 day time clock runs out....back 2 square one.

TLDR : Answer Summary
While applying for an E-Visa in Vientiane, it's crucial to scan all necessary documents clearly, including your passport, bank statement, and marriage certificate, as blurry images may lead to rejection. The author mentions having assistance from someone near the embassy to expedite the process, and advises that if the application isn't approved within 14 days, you will have to start over. A comment warns about potential scams from certain locals offering help.

The guys directly across from the consulate are crooks, the people set up in the little lane beside the coffee shop to the immediate right of the consulate when facing it are much more fair.
